We ve all got details we need to remember about the photos we re scrapbooking, but sometimes it s hard to think of a way to make the writing less boring. Remember, you don t always need to stick to the rectangular journaling block next to your photo. Instead, try journaling around a photo on a simple frame, journaling around the outside of the entire page, or writing those memories on an embellishment. One idea that caught our eye recently was using the petals of a silk flower as the perfect place to write the details of the picture. One of our members, "arancal" used this idea in a layout she titled "Pretty Pink Princess" which she has added to our Layout Gallery. We loved the idea, and are hoping all of you will get creative with your journaling as well. Keep in mind, it is the little details that can make a big difference in a page. It turned out super cute, and we re sure it d be a great project for anyone looking to do a smaller album (she used 6x6). It s easier to tackle than a full sized album, takes a lot less time, and gives you the opportunity to make a book around one theme. These smaller albums make great coffee table books, and also wonderful gifts. While Alayna used the "Because you Love Me" theme from February s pack, feel free to pick your favorite and personalize to your heart s content. You might want to give acrylic a try. It s super fun and versatile and is a fun product to work with. Being able to see through to the pages behind adds a whole new level of creativity.</p> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> &nbsp; </td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top"> <a name="5" /> <img src="../common/n5.gif" width="29" height="27" /> </td> <td style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 13px;"> <h2>St. Patrick s Day Trivia:</h2> <img src="images/st-paty-trivia.gif" alt="" style="float: right;" width="250" height="250" /> <p>St. Patrick s Day, is an annual feast day for St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. He is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland.</p> <p>Originally, blue, not green was the color associated with St. Patrick, but around 1750 the change to green took place. Being the national holiday of Ireland, it was seen more suitable to have green be the color associated with the holiday.</p> <p>St. Patrick used the shamrock to explain the trinity to the pre-Christian Irish.</p> <p>The shamrock has long been a symbol of Irish nationalism. When the English began to seize land, make laws against the practice of Catholicism, and forbid the Irish language, many Irish would wear a shamrock as a symbol of their national pride and displeasure with the English rule.</p> <p>The first St. Patrick's Day parade took place in the United States.
