I don’t know about you, but I am thrilled to see that summer has finally made its
way here! I love lazy days, flip flops, popsicles, green grass, baseball games…….everything
about this fun season! One of the challenges of this fun season is keeping the kids
(or ourselves) from becoming {too} lazy or bored. This month we have a few fun ideas
to keep things lively, fresh, and new at your home. Here are a few ideas that might
work for you or your children! Make a “Summer of Service” (S.O.S.) kit. This kit
was designed with the purpose of focusing on {serving others} throughout the upcoming
months. The kit includes a notebook to jot ideas and feelings, a small photo book,
treats and gum (a small reward) to enjoy while writing in your notebook. Keep it
in a place where you will see it and use it regularly! The next project is a small
chore jar. A friend of mine found this idea on
this blog, and I just had to try it out! Each stick has a job on it. All
of the sticks need to be flipped over before the kids can go out and play with their
friends. It is an excellent visual aid for mom to see if the kids have taken care
of all of their chores. Lastly, create a clipboard that holds the monthly calendar
of events taking place. Sit down with your kids and plan out the things you would
like to do. This gives kids something to look forward to. You can even purchase
small clipboards from an office supply store, so each child can make a calendar
of his or her own. I hope you will find something useful this month. Thanks for
stopping by!
*I would love to know what you think of our monthly
projects. If you have any questions or suggestions please send a note my way! I
would love to see how you transform the monthly projects to make them your own.
